Bre Darlison is a queer interdisciplinary artist working primarily in painting, sculpture, and analog film. Based in the unceded and ancestral territory of the Mi’kmaq people, their practice explores the intersections of instinct, identity, and imposed cultural restraints.
Bre holds a degree in Fine Arts from Mount Allison University. Their work is deeply rooted in the tensions between natural instinct and the societal structures—such as misogyny, homophobia, religion, and other human-made constructs—that seek to suppress or distort those instincts, particularly within the framework of animalia.
